Directly from Oybin you can start varied circular hikes to sandstone rocks, viewpoints and well-known destinations in the Zittau Mountains.
Circular route to Oybin Castle via the Kelchsteine rocks and Mount Oybin back to Hain. A moderately difficult tour with views, rocks and a historic atmosphere.

A moderately difficult hike. Basic fitness, sturdy footwear and sure-footedness are recommended. The starting point is Pension Klette.
Pension Klette → Ankohrweg → Kelchsteine → Bürgerallee → Tourist Information → Mount Oybin → castle grounds → Ringweg → Ritterweg → Thomasweg → Stern → Eschengrundweg → Pension Klette
From Pension Klette, walk about 100 metres uphill and turn left into Hochwaldweg. After roughly 400 metres you reach the Ankohrweg junction, keep left again and descend towards Kammstrasse.
After a short stretch along the road you reach the Kelchsteine rocks. These striking sandstone formations were shaped by weathering and are among the interesting natural sights around Oybin.
Continue along Bürgerallee towards Oybin. At Haus des Gastes the ascent to Mount Oybin begins, with the mountain church, castle, monastery, viewpoints and romantic sandstone scenery.
After visiting the castle grounds, the route continues via Bergringweg, Ritterschlucht and Thomasweg. From the Stern junction, follow Eschengrundweg along the forest and mountain meadows back to Hain and Pension Klette.
A moderately difficult route on paved and unpaved paths. Some short sections climb steeply on stair-like paths.
Pension Klette → towards Oybin → Floßbergweg → Ankohrweg → Kammstraße → Kelchsteine → Wiesenweg → large rock passage → Scharfenstein → small rock passage → Toepfer with Töpferbaude → Oybin → Hölleweg → Talringweg → Hainbergweg → Pension Klette
The route leads from Oybin via Kelchsteine to the rock passages, then on to the Scharfenstein viewpoint and Toepfer. Along the way, look out for sandstone formations, the Felsentor and the opportunity to rest at Töpferbaude.
The return route leads through Oybin and along Hölleweg to Hain. It is a good tour for guests who want to combine sandstone rocks, views and a pleasant stop at a mountain inn.
A moderately difficult hike with several ascents and descents between Oybin and Ameisenberg.
Pension Klette → Schwarze Pfütze → Stern → Pferdeberg → Katzenkerbe → Bastei → Ameisenberg → Teufelsmühle stop → Oybin → Hain → Pension Klette
From Pension Klette, walk uphill towards Jonsdorf and continue along the Johannisstein slope to Schwarze Pfütze, then on to Stern. From there the path leads to Pferdeberg, where views of Mount Oybin open between the trees.
After a short descent, continue through Katzenkerbe, a romantic rock passage, to Ameisenberg. On its ridge you will find sandstone formations such as Bastei and Wilde Mauer, as well as one of the most natural sections of this route.
The descent leads towards Robertfelsen and on to the Teufelsmühle stop. The blue trail then takes you through Oybintal to Oybin. Return to Pension Klette via the spa park and the old road to Hain.
